[solved] Can Facebox 1.2 handle browser specific events.

Postby qakalina on Wed Jan 06, 2010 8:50 pm

I'm using Facebox (for jQuery) version: 1.2 (05/05/2008)
Currently when I modify user in my web app and try to navigate to another page of my site using navigation withing site I receive nice Facebox pop-up saying "You have unsaved changes. Do you really want to navigate from this page?" BUT if I click F5 or browser's Refresh or close tab/browser I receive standard javascript pop-up with the same message.
This is the way it's coded and I REALLY want to know if it's possible to display Facebox pop-up instaead of JS pop-up when I click F5 or browser's Refresh or close tab/browser.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

yes you can. but it would only summon the JS popup afterwards, leaving you to confirm 2 boxes which gets annoying. this is most probably why the code showed the JS dialog box and not the facebox before the page unloads in whatever manner.

I'm wondering if I can suppress JS popup and only display Facebox. Any thoughts?

no you can't... if anything the facebox popup won't do you anything significant inside the onbeforeunload event. the only thing modern browsers have for now is that.
