MooForum Icon?

Postby Lweel8 on Wed Aug 06, 2008 10:22 pm

Anyone with artist talents interested in creating a MooForum icon? I'd love to put one on my site to encourage traffic.

+1 for a nice icon...

and a favicon, a nice looking leader, a new header, a custom phpbb style...
just kidding...

a small icon / banner and a favicon would be great :)

How's this for a temporary solution for the favicon?

Does anybody know if we can use the mootools logo? I mean is there any license that allows/prevents us to use it for another image?

I don't think so... not without permission... which we currently don't have...

so no... we can't use the mootools logo...

No, can't use mootools logo. I'm setting up a dutch site for mootools and asked the team if I could use it. But they won't let me...

Tip for icon: create a png-24 with transparent background and use dynamic drive te create a ico ;)

I'm not familiar with phpbb templates, are they fairly easy to edit (ie just a case of changing CSS and images)?

yeah you could do that... but with that way you are always limited...

what we would need is a design with layers (in photoshop or gimp or whatever..) for each site of the forum.
means more or less: header, footer, forum list, topic list, post even, post odd, private message system, user control panel, member list, all the small nice icons...
and maybe much more... :o

so the hardest part is doing all the design work...
the implementation as HTML and including this all in phpbb also takes some time but that's something where we could work together more easily...

I originally made one with a transparent background but it doesn't look great in all browsers' address bars. FF3 has that weird gray border now too. I liked the white but feel free to make your own. (and I did use DynamicDrive to make the ico file)

transparent background as in 'exporting with white background and make white color transparent' or 'export with no background and save as png-24' ?
